GIS Day is around the corner

This year's UW-Madison GIS Day event will be held on Wednesday, November 19th in the Varsity Hall (second floor) in Union South on campus from 9am to 4pm.

Highlights for this year's event will include two keynote presentations, six speakers, a map gallery, and exhibits. The event is free and open to the public!

During the breaks, participants can explore the map gallery and various exhibits that will be stationed in the area, and network with other geospatial professionals and newcomers.

We are encouraging exhibitors (including university departments, government agencies, private businesses, and non-profit organizations) to join us in this educational effort. 2014 GIS Day at UW-Madison

The theme for this year is "Geospatial: A Growing Profession Supporting Wisconsin's Communities & Traditions." We anticipate having two keynote speakers along with six additional speakers as well as a poster gallery and exhibits.

GIS Day Planning Committee Meeting at 10am TODAY

We will be meeting TODAY at 10am at Union South outside the Varsity Hall lobby.

Topics of discussion include: review and finalize speakers & keynotes; funding options for catering breaks and lunch; poster gallery; and exhibits.
